Leeds, isn’t just a location for the film – Leeds, the city. Is a very real character in the film.

The main characters Dan and Ant – played by Dean Smith and Tom Gibbons – are both Leeds lads and fans of the mighty Leeds United – and in real life too – Dean and Tom are both Leeds born and bred and are fans of LUFC.

SOBER the Movie MADE IN LEEDS

Leeds locations (especially the city centre) feature throughout the film – there’s even a title sequence which follows Dan into work, from the suburbs right into the city centre.

For fans of location spotting – Sober has lots of Leeds landmarks – some sporting, some architectural, some historical and some which are just nice to look at (Leeds looks lovely in the film).

ALAW

As well as the city – the football club – Leeds United – features heavily in Sober – as well as the fans of Leeds (including The Square Ball Fanzine and Podcast). All Leeds Aren’t We?

There are some sporting Leeds Utd references and a few Leeds Utd related jokes too.

I’VE BEEN TO LEEDS
